Of course you respect your childrens' privacy. But you also want to know where they are, what they're doing, and who they're with at all times. Most importantly, you want to know that they are safe.

You love your parents, but adding them as friends on Facebook makes you uneasy, your Tweets are occasionally NSFP, or teaching them how to use Foursquare doesn't sound like great way to spend your weekend.
